Privacy Policy
How VASTRO® collects, uses and protects the information you share through this website and through a consultation.
This policy is a developer's draft prepared for review. Please have this document reviewed by counsel before launch and complete the bracketed placeholders.
1. Who we are
This policy applies to the website www.vastroacharya.com and to the consultation, teaching and research services offered by VASTRO®, Vastu Astro Sciences Training & Research Organisation, established 1998, of which Acharya Narinder Vasudeva is Founder & Chairperson and Acharya Dhruv Vasudeva is Co-Founder.
We are the data controller for the personal information described below. Enquiries and correspondence may be directed to contact.vastro@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
We collect only what a consultation actually requires. We do not run advertising trackers, social pixels or third-party analytics cookies on this site, and we set no marketing cookies.
- Contact details you give us: name, telephone number, email address and city.
- The content of your enquiry, including any description of a property, business or situation.
- For Vastu work: floor plans, site plans, dimensions, measured orientations, photographs of the property and, where Astro Vastu is being considered, the birth details of the principal occupant.
- For astrology work: date of birth, time of birth and place of birth.
- For training enquiries: your background and what you have already studied.
- Automatically, the server records standard technical information such as request path, timestamp and approximate user agent, used solely to keep the site operating and to diagnose faults.
3. Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and, where you ask for one, to arrange and carry out a consultation.
- To prepare for that consultation. The analysis cannot be carried out without the property and birth information.
- To maintain records of our own professional work, including case documentation for research purposes.
- To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.
4. Birth details and case records
Birth details and the personal circumstances disclosed during a consultation are treated as sensitive. They are held only for the purposes above.
Where a case is documented for research or published on this site, identifying details are changed and no information is published that would allow an individual, family or business to be identified. Nothing is published without the practice's own review of what it discloses.
5. Legal basis
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process your data on the basis of the consent you give when submitting an enquiry, and, where a consultation has been requested, as necessary to perform it. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by writing to us; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
6. Who else sees it
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers.
Enquiry submissions are received by the practice. Where a hosting, email or storage provider is used to operate the website, that provider processes data on our instructions under its own terms. Where a consultation is jointly conducted by both Acharyas, the relevant information is shared between them.
7. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for a limited period and then removed. Consultation records, plans and reports are retained for as long as the professional file is needed, and afterwards only where a legal or accounting obligation requires it. Case documentation used for research is retained in anonymised form indefinitely.
8. Security
Information is stored on access-controlled systems. Transmission over the website is protected by HTTPS. No method of storage is absolute, and we ask that you do not send anything through the enquiry form that you would not be willing to discuss by telephone.
9. Your rights
To exercise any of these, write to contact.vastro@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
- To ask what personal information we hold about you.
- To ask for it to be corrected or completed.
- To ask for it to be erased, subject to records we are obliged to keep.
- To withdraw consent for future processing.
- To nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
- To lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from anyone under eighteen. Birth details of a child may be provided by a parent or guardian for the purposes of a consultation; in that case the parent or guardian gives consent on the child's behalf.
11. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the head of the page is revised and a note of the change is kept here. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
